Flooding & Disaster Response
Habagat monsoon and potential LPA formation bring flood risks nationwide
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts continued isolated rain showers and thunderstorms across large parts of the country due to the southwest monsoon (habagat), with a possible low-pressure area (LPA) potentially forming within 24 hours east of Visayas and Mindanao. Pagasa warns of severe thunderstorms that may trigger flash floods and landslides in affected areas, particularly over western sections of the country, while sea conditions remain manageable with light to moderate winds.
