Mayon Volcano 65-day effusive eruption with PDC and strombolian activity

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported continued effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano on March 11, 2026, marking the 65th consecutive day of activity with lava effusion, pyroclastic density currents, and minor strombolian activity. Alert Level 3 remains in effect with a 6-km Permanent Danger Zone established, and the volcano shows ongoing deformation with elevated sulfur dioxide emissions and crater glow visible to the naked eye.
