BFAR implements 3-month fishing ban in Davao Gulf for fish stock protection

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources implemented a three-month fishing ban in Davao Gulf from June 1 to August 31, 2026, to protect small pelagic fish species during their peak spawning period. Only registered fishermen with authorized gears are permitted to fish, while ring nets and bag nets are prohibited, with violators facing fines from P20,000 to P500,000 and potential license revocation.
