Palace defends PNP crime statistics amid recent killings

Malacañang defended the Philippine National Police's claim that crime rates declined by 20.6 percent despite recent high-profile killings including an American marine biologist in Negros Oriental and multiple incidents in Caloocan City. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated the government does not approve of these crimes and that the PNP is strengthening its mandate to ensure community protection and faster incident response.
