Extreme heat indices nationwide pose health and safety risks

Heat indices reached dangerously high levels nationwide on June 1, with Camarines Sur experiencing a peak of 46°C, classified as "danger" level by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). Despite the enhanced southwest monsoon, multiple areas across the Philippines continue to face heat-related health risks with indices ranging from 42°C to 51°C.
